Enamel Jewellery

I attended a workshop at The McGregor Winter School, University of Southern Queensland, in July this year. The workshop tutor was Carolyn Delzoppo who specialises in cloisonne and champleve enamel jewellery. Carolyn has exhibited and taught in many countries around the world and is very highly regarded. Her class was a real inspiration for me and I am having lots of fun designing and creating my own minature artworks using the cloisonne and champleve enamelling techniques in my jewellery.

Mokume Gane Jewellery

In May of this year I was fortunate to visit Japan to attend a workshop to learn new Mokume Gane. Mokume Gane is an ancient Japanese technique of combining metals to achieve a wood grain effect. Traditionally it was use to decorate the hilt of a Samurai sword. These days it is a very popular technique used in jewellery. These earrings are made using fine silver and copper with a freshwater pearl.
